The holidays have been kickn my ass. I've been doing a good amount of commissions and I'm gonna post em as soon as I can but in the meantime I'll be holding a booth at Truly Unique's Yule/Christmas Bazaar Dec.7th. with a bunch of other artists and artisans. So if you are in the Wilson,NC area you should stop by and check everyone out and also rummage through the variety of product in Truly Unique. But if anime is your bag and you are in the Wilmington.NC area you should go to Aniwave! It's Dec.8th and I'll also be running a booth there. I won the contest for the flyer and badge art this year with this ---> theironclown.deviantart.com/ar… so I am superstoked to be selling in Wilmington again you can find me I'll be wearing a "court of owls" mask. Hope to see you there!!!

WOO! Commission work finally done I have a week to finalize any art and fanart to bring to LibrariCON, which I will try and post here as soon as I can. If you are kind of local and not going to DragonCon, come by Fayetteville, for our annual one day anime/comic convention, it's totally free! Which is great because now you have money to come buy stiff :) Hope to see you there!

I wasnt sure if I could go at all this year, then at the last minute arrangements were made. I didnt know I was going to be able to get a table but around 1pm on Saturday a half table opened up. I didnt know how much of my expenses would get covered, and man thanks to some rockin new and old fans I got it all and then some!!! Thank you everybody who came by checked out my work, took some cards and above all else purchased my work. I feel like my hand was gonna fall off after doing all those commissions. I had a blast even though I did have my head down drawing for half the con :) I really appreciate it. Now I have to go be paranoid as I take a huge wad of cash to the bank.

WOW, it's been awhile. With Fall moving in steadily it's back to more of the grindstone. I have just finished the artwork for the Hirajeta Tarot and will be selling prints at conventions, the first being Librari-CON in Fayetteville, NC. But I won't be able to get full decks printed until next year. Quite a bit of people have been asking for them, so I'll keep everyone posted here on DA and facebook. However in the meantime, I have been doing more game cards for Level 99 Games and hope to have them up soon, after I post the rest of the tarot cards. I'll also be making some more sugar skull masks and animal masks for sale for this year's Shadowharvest in November. After that, I can get back to finishing The Sinner and the Saint Remix vol. 2

About damn time I know!

It has been forever since I posted anything. Actually I'm pretty sure it was around Thanksgiving last year judging by the last entry. I've been on hiatus somewhat, slightly forced when my pirated photoshop wouldnt transfer from my old PC to the new one, so I actually had to wait until I got the cash to purchase CS6 so, now I can start scanning and submitting everything I have been doing since then. What have I been up to you may ask? (I hope.) Well aside from my awesome family helping me get an awesome tattoo kit and working on getting an apprenticeship, I have been working with a cosplay trio called the Blue Eyed Sisters helping them make stuff and enjoying the benefits of that. The Hirajeta Tarot has to just be colored and I can finally get to that once PSCS6 loads up, but until then I can show you the inks. I got some cosplays and products to show you that I made for Animazement 2012 which was really awesome btw!!! Well I'll stop boring you and get to work again!

Happy Thanksgiving all! I hope everyone is fresh with entirely too much food and doing your best to fight the "itus". While I am still working on a few things that I'll be uploading soon I just really wanted to let you know I wasn't dead.

Attention friends, family, fans and clients. It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you all that effective immediately Iron Clown Studios will no longer be taking private commissions of any kind. I'm sorry if this effects your opinion of me and I'll understand if I lose your business in the future.

However, a few things have made themselves apparent in my life and it is time for me to take the time to return to my own lead projects that have sat on the backburner for far too long. Some people will dislike this move but others have been looking forward to this for quite some time and I must admit that I have also been feeling the pull to get back to work with The Sinner and the Saint Remix and the Hirajeta Tarot. So I'd like to thank you all for your generous business and attention but I feel that I have to finish what I had set out to do.

There simply was no time for me to make art for customers, go to work, and still finish my own work. I'll still be posting here on DeviantART when I can, just not until I have made up alot of ground.

Sincerely,
Danny Hirajeta

So here's what I've been up to lately.... Level99 Games BattleCON cards, finishing up the Hirajeta Tarot set, and hammering out album art for Seattle band "The Mothership". I have some more private commissions lined up as soon as I'm done with this and to be honest it's pretty damn awesome. I'm on vacation right now and spent last night blowing up my backyard with fireworks. Later on in October I can look forward to another vacation, birthdays for myself and my best friends, another camping trip to Shadowharvest, this year's Zombie Walk and Halloween!!! I don't mean to gloat, I'm just happy. Could things be going my way even more? Yeah, if it wasn't some damn hot here! It's been upper 90's with humidity out the ass for months now... stupid southern US weather. Even though it's rained everyday for the past couple weeks, it just broils us alive.

Well I better get back to work

Also, Animazment is just around the corner! My costume is ready, my artwork is ready, and I'm counting down the days! As soon as my commissions are done I'll see if I can get approval to post them up here on Deviant. Hope you're all doing well and now that the coffee is kicking in, it's back to the grindstone

Hope to see you there!

If you are like me and spent some time in Japan, the disaster has hit home pretty hard and I wasn't too sure how to help when I really wanted to. So I have decieded this year at Animazment in Raliegh, NC. I'll be donating ALL of my auction winnings to the Red Cross Flood Relief program to help them out. I unfortunatly won't be having a table this year but I am going to to be there donating blood at the Red Cross Blood Bus....oh wait, I can't because I just got tattoos earlier this year. However, if you can't spend too much money or are just not sure how to help. Donate some blood anyway. As a big fan of Anime, Manga, Japanese culture and people I really want to help. I'll post what I have for auction soon along with a few other things I'm working on.

I would like to go on a massive rant about how alot of groups are heading over to try and help but have some sort of underlying commercial or religious agenda to take advantage of, and I assure you this is not my case. I lived in Okinawa from 1995 to 1999 and count them as the most influencial years of my life. I hope you can find the time and resources or prayers to help people you may not ever meet or hear from all the way across the world.

What a year 2010 was....the last few days were an unspeakable hell, although I speak of it en masse. January hasn't been that fun either so I try to keep in mind that the Chniese new year hasn't come around yet so there's still hope. I'm a bit on the sick side right now but things are moving along. I just finished up some cards for Level 99 Games, and have started on my next bit of commissions and the last bit of Volume 2. This year however seems to be on the odd side but that might be just what I need. I've moved again, which is pretty nice. Rollerderby season has started up again so if it's within your tastes, there will be more Derby fliers going up soon.

I can hardly wait for convention time, and another Zombie walk this year

(this rant is not about any one person or persons, and it is not about starting an argument or discussion, although I am not entirely against it.)

Love.

I know what it is. I know it in all it's forms. I have danced on it's edge and felt it's crushing weight, toyed with it and became it's willing slave. Love. This GREAT thing that we can all either relate to, or find ourselves exiled from. It makes us forget past pain just to turn around and remind us of our forgotten lessons. This predictable mystery. It's been a friend of mine. A best friend, and lover. A casual aquaintence, and complete stranger. My greatest enemy. An escape and so much more. This great thing in life, is still only one thing. Not the only thing in life. So why is it focused on so much? Is my love of art greater than my love for a person? Is there a difference? How could a person have seemingly everything attainable in a lifetime, and die without love and be seen as either dispicable or a failure?

This bothers me. There have been plenty of times when I have looked back at my love life and shrugged it off as one would a weight, side stepped possibilities for my own machinations. If you saw this on TV would you pity me? Think me a fool for considering what you call treasure I see as garbage? What makes one dream more important than the other? I know that it doesn't matter what other people think; that we are all our own person no matter what, but if it didnt really matter we wouldn't have funerals, or work so hard to be remembered.

So you may ask, " If love isn't the greatest thing there is what else is there?". Well some of you won't relate to this, but have you ever beaten someone at something? Chess, Cards, Sports, Philisophical debate? it's awesome, espeically when you can bring your whole self into the competition I suppose the short answer would be Glory. Power is also really good. All these things are GREAT things and like Love can be fleeting. So why the special treatment? What about Fun? Clean completely free hard laughter, so bad it hurts. You don't need to be in love for that. Some are content to be alone, but become targets when friends can't understand why they don't bother to try and find someone. People say they are scared, or have low self esteem, but they are incorrect in their deduction and wrong to try and force their way of thinking onto someone else.  Food for thought, wether you choke on it or not is not up to me.

Love is a great thing, but it is not the ONLY thing. As this rant on love is only a part of who I am, not how I think or feel on the subject entirely. Before any of you decide to jump to conclusions.

Speaking of which the Hirajeta Tarot is finished and I recieved the last batch in yesterday afternoon!!! When can you get them you say? why they'll be on sale at my table at Librari-CON, this saturday at the downtown library in Fayetteville, NC! I hope to see you there, and I hope to see plenty of people watch me in my very first panel! I'm sure to mess it all up and cuss way more than any other panel in "Making the Monster" advanced panel of villian making!

So the time of Animazment is upon us all! The paperwork is in, the hotels have been reserved, Costumes are ready, Artwork is ready, and the prospect of a 5 day Memorial Day weekend has gotten Iron Clown Studios foaming at the mouth with anticipation! Again, the tables were sold out before I could snag one, actually had the form filled out halfway and BOOM! sold out! Anyway, I still got one last year when I signed up for the reserve list and had a great time doing commissions and selling prints. I met a whole lot of really cool people I hope I can see again and even if I don't get one this year I'll have an enormous amount of fun with my last year acting like a jackass in cosplay.

And "what cosplay?" you might ask? Oh just the most badass of badasses! Player1 and Player2 of CONTRA! I know what you're thinking, oh that's easy.......oh no, you have no idea what we are bringing to the Animazment's face this year. I hope to see us in all of your cosplay photos. We'll be doing that on Friday. Saturday, just look for the 3rd Hokage Sarutobi running around or hopefully drawing at a table.

I'll be posting what I'll have in the auction shortly, I still want to go over them with a fine toothed comb. However, I will tell you that the series of work is an East vs. West of a Anime/Manga/Videogame character against an American Comics character. I do hope you like it! and I hope to see you there!
